EU - Canada Twinning

The European Union-Canada Workshop on “Biorefineries: Biofuels & Bioproducts” was organised by the European Commission and Agrifood Canada (ABIP) together with the University of Pisa the 16 th -17 th June in Pisa, Italy. A significant participation of ongoing projects (Calls KBBE-2007-1, KBBE 2008-2A and KBBE 2008-2B) as well as projects with strong focus on biotechnology were presented from the European and Canadian side. The event was organised in the frame of the new initiative “ Twinning of Research Projects, between the EC (FP7) and ABIP Canada ” , using as pilot the projects on agricultural bioproducts with the aim to strongly encourage international cooperation and identify opportunities for the mutual benefit.
