Action Plan Development for the Reinforcement of Cooperation with Turkey in the Field of Renewable Energy Sources

Funding: International Development Cooperation Department (YDAS) / Hellenic Aid, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Project Targets: 

• Development of co-operation in the Solar Energy sector and in general in the Renewable Energy Sources in Turkey,

• Contribution of Greece to the efforts of Turkey for harmonising its Legal Framework of RES to the E.U. acquisition,

• Development of collaboration in the Scientific, Technological and Enterprising Sector.


Technical Object of the Project

 Installation of solar cooling (power 35KW with 160m2 solar collectors) & energy savings systems on the building envelope (external wall and roof insulation & external shading devices at southern openings) in office buildings of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University.

Expected results from the technical object

In this way the office buildings of Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University will need less energy for heating and cooling by 58%, namely they will save 348MWh annually, which is equivalent to decrease of the CO2 emissions of these buildings by 88tn annuallyåôçóßùò.
