Heating - Cooling of the Mining Engineering Building at the NTUA Campus with Geothermal Heat Pumps.

Project Description:

The project is focused in the development of a hybrid geothermal heat pump technology combination for the Heating - Cooling of the Mining Engineering Building at the NTUA Campus, where conventional fuels are entirely substituted with ground energy (under 25 °C). The project aims in the conservation and substitution of energy (approximately 100 TOE annually) parallel with the reduction of CO2 emmissions to the atmpsphere of Athens. The project is an innovative demonstration project where the heating and cooling of the building is achieved with the hybrid combination of open-loop and closed-loop ground-coupled heat pump configurations.
