The main objective of INTERACTION has been the assessment of the effectiveness of the various energy efficiency measures, regarding freight transport. These measures included the use of clean vehicles and fuels, ecodriving, IT logistics, modal shift etc (all pilot actions are available at the relevant database of the website of the project).

The consortium composition included 11 partners from 7 european countries, with CRES and TRADEMCO the respective partners from Greece.

More specifically, regarding Greece, CRES successfully proceeded in pilot actions with the following companies: BP, Shell, Avinoil, Revoil, Elinoil, Proodos and the municipalities of Athens, Amaroussion, Gerakas and Vari. The pilot actions included the use of ecodriving, IT logistics and the use of cleaner fuels (CNG). The results have been most satisfactory as they revealed a savings potential of about 15% with the use of ecodriving and IT logistics and even more (under certain circumstances) with the use of modal shift.
